Inspired by our crazy summer weather…

Filed under: Favorite Finds — webmaster at 2:11 pm on Thursday, July 3, 2008

I wanted to post some of my favorite lightning/storm themed finds. We had crazy thunder and lightning storms all last night and through the morning which is not very common up here in the northwest! So, I found these great items in honor of nature’s fireworks display!

this great pendant is made by KittyLoco It is so simple but so fun and funky too!

… so this collection of wonderful kitchen accessories is especially exciting to me!

I found this amazing artist, glynnbebee, creating beautiful wood utensils on Etsy. They are beautiful and you can choose the wood he uses to make the utensil you order! I’m definitely going to be going to glynnbebee when I need to buy gifts for the 3 weddings my husband and I are going to this June!

These organic, eco friendly napkins from boxwoodgoods are equally exciting (yes … I get excited about napkins). The napkins are simple, elegant, and a great way to do your part in preserving our environment!

The final artist I would like to feature in my first kitchen favorites post is khphillips and his amazing pottery pieces. I especially love the queso pot but this olive oil decanter is very cool too!

Just driving down the street you have to smile. The sun shines more often. The trees are in bloom. And summer is on the horizon!

My really good friend is moving today all the way across the country to Atlanta. We have known each other for about 2 years now. She was my neighbor at our old apartment and we both got pups at the same time. We’ve shared a lot of wonderfully sunny afternoons taking the dogs for a walk or sitting at the dog park while they played (also many rainy afternoons in one of our apartments while the dogs played, bashing in to everything in sight). We shared special times like my wedding and her baby’s birth in September 2007. So yesterday we went on our last walk (at least while we’re living in the same state… hopefully I’ll get to go visit her sometime soon!) and it was a beautiful day for a walk! The sun was shining… it was so much more pleasant than the snow we had the day before! So, on our walk I captured this beautiful picture of the bright blue sky behind a blossoming cherry tree.

What a wonderful day for our last walk as neighbors!

This post is dedicated to friendship and always staying in touch! I sent her off with these so that we can send notes to each other the old fashioned way!

A few of My Favorite Things - 1st Edition

Filed under: Favorite Finds — webmaster at 3:59 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2008

Welcome to the first installment of my “My Favorite Things” Blogs. I plan to do these about every week so check back to see what new great items I have been working on in my own shop or have my eye on in other shops!

I have been working on some new designs and just listed two of them in my shop! I think they may be my two favorite so far! I wanted something vibrant and fun but still simple and clean. I came up with these chrysanthemum and berry bunch designs. They are warm and friendly and create the perfect notecard for any correspondence!

I have been looking for condiment bowls for a long time. My husband and I enjoy having little dishes for our dips and sauces when we sit down to dinner. I was so excited to find these wonderful hand made little “raindrop pots” in Antb’s shop

I was also extremely excited to find this great shop … a neighbor to my north … Kootsac. They make wonderful reusable food bags and grocery totes allowing you to conserve in style!

Ok! That’s it for my first installment of my favorite things! I have to leave you wanting more! Check back next week for my next list of favorite things!

Featured Etsy Seller #1 — dippylulu

Fun and funky is what you’ll find in dippylulu’s Etsy shop ( dippylulu.etsy.com ). Whether you are looking for a way to mask your man’s not so appealing gassy stench,  celebrate a birthday without the calories, or buy a goofy (but fun nonetheless) gift for a bachelorette party, this shop is for you! Check out the designs … I’m sure you have at least one friend or family member in mind who could benefit from the wares of dippylulu!

Check out what dippylulu has to say about her designs and her creative process:

1. When and why did you start creating your designs?
I was a buyer on Etsy for some time and last fall I thought to myself that I could make and sell stuff too.
2. What product/design are you most proud of?
Birthday Lites. They’re fun, fresh, and unique.
3. How much time do you devote to designing/creating your products?
An idea can sit and brew in my head for months and months. I then have to wait for it to “download” into my brain before actually starting to create it. When it’s ripe the process can take anything from 4-12 hours to get everything in its place. I’m actually working on tweaking existing designs in my shop before introducing new products.

Please check out dippylulu.etsy.com … I know you’ll love it!
